Angela Dove: Award-Winning Writer

Angela Dove is an award-winning humor columnist (First place, North Carolina Press Association) who enjoys crafting stories about small humorous moments in her columns or about the intricate web of human connectedness in her true crime memoir. Her blog, "Will Write for Chocolate," offers tips and stories about living and parenting in gratitude. She also facilitates writers' workshops and shares her stories at women's inspirational conferences and crime survivors' colloquiums. In her spare time Angela writes and directs dramas for churches.

Before becoming a full-time writer and speaker, Angela worked as an editor for an independent press for several years. More recently she taught university writing and literature courses, winning research and lecture awards from her professors, peers and students.

Raised in California’s fertile Central Valley, Angela moved back to her family’s home on the east coast after her stepmother’s murder. She holds a BA in English and film studies from Georgia Southern University, an MA in English from Western Carolina University, and finished all coursework toward her PhD at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Angela currently resides in the Appalachian Mountains near Asheville, NC, with her husband, their two young children, and three mostly-annoying dogs.
